5. How A Good Leather Jacket Can Save Your Life!

People might wonder how a good leather jacket can save a life. For most, it maybe can save them from the deep chilling cold at night. But for me, it really did save me from being killed by a machete.

To recall a little back in time when I still have money. I bought a good leather riding jacket for RM 800, and it was a used leather jacket, even though I don't own a bike.

It actually helped me later in life when I was down and out, when I was looking after a club in Sunway Mentari (the salary was only RM 36 for 8 hours of work). Got into many fights there but they never used any weapons (except beer mugs, helmets and chairs)

The fight came to me when I was in Port Dickson, when a couple of guys was waiting at my condo with machete when I came home (just because a simple misunderstanding). After a heated argument, a fight broke out with me chasing them with a bayonet and they keep hacking me with their machete.

To cut the story short, the police came, stopped the fight and took us to the hospital. Still lost lot of blood but managed to get away with some stitches on both arms and jawline near the neck.

Anyway looking at the people around me now, it is hard for them to invest a few hundreds of ringgit on a good leather jacket which maybe can save their life some day, be it from a very cold night, falling from a bike or even from a misunderstanding which could lead to a deadly fight.
